It's hard to believe that it's been a little over two weeks since Paper Ave has launched! I woke up the next morning to the surprise of receiving my first order and am so grateful to have received a number of inquiries since then. While working on the content and details of this site, I knew I wanted a dedicated blog to Paper Ave, but was a little unsure of what to focus on. Instagram has been a great place to keep a visual journal of the development of Paper Ave and I'd like to share the written journey of Paper Ave here as it continues to develop and evolve. Documenting the life of Paper Ave as a business and lessons learned as an entrepreneur (and life in general!). My goal is to look back one day and be able to see Paper Ave from Day 1 and I hope that you will follow me alongside this journey.
A few recent standout moments -
Collaborative Thread: I recently attended a networking event hosted by Collaborative Thread at the Moniker Warehouse and it was so exciting to be surrounded by a group of women who were entrepreneurs as well. I met some great people including a few creative writers and Becky from Idealust. With live music playing in the background, appetizers, cake pops and cold brew coffee, what is there not to enjoy? There was a wonderful panel of business owners who graciously shared their experiences with us and one of the biggest things I took from that evening was when Noelia from Avarcas USA shared her philosophy on starting small and allowing room to develop and grow. I resonated with that quite a bit as that is also my model for Paper Ave as well. It has always been important to me to start a small online shop and be able to grow my product line as the business evolves. Great event and looking forward to the next one!
A silent auction piece: For those who may not know, I wake up each morning and get to help my clients design their kitchen and/or bath for my day job. I love interacting with my clients, space planning, picking out finishes and figuring out every detail to make their living space a place that not only reflects who they are, but also allows for functionality and beauty. We recently held a fundraiser event at work for my coworkers non-profit organization called Kids In Action and I was so grateful to have been able to contribute a floral arrangement for the silent auction. A few photos of the piece and one of my friend and I holding the piece!
I'm a true believer that one can never be too grateful and thankful in life. Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support. I would not be here without it! Every moment has been a learning experience and I look froward to continue sharing this journey with you! In the meantime, I am finalizing up my holiday collection and will be adding them to the shop this upcoming week. There are a few upcoming projects for the beginning of the year which I am excited to share with you in the near future! Have a great rest of the weekend!
